We have already received a large number of applications for fruit picking jobs from mid January to early April on the R J Cornish & Co orchard located at Cobram on the Murray River in northern Victoria.

A large crop of peaches, pears and apples requires workers who are prepared to work hard in a generally hot climate. Pay is by piece-work which means that your earnings are directly related to how much you pick.

Before you apply for a job consider that you will need your own transport so that you can get to our orchard each day as we do not have any onsite accommodation available. See accommodation options.

Vacancies will be limited and many job applicants are likely to be unsuccessful.

We offer good working conditions and the chance to get fit at the same time. Fruit picking work is generally available Monday to Friday (weather and crop permitting) with the strong possibility of Sunday work.

Applications will be taken from eligible people looking for seasonal work who are willing to support safe work practices. We do not have any fruit picking jobs for people who are going to take risks with safety.

If you are offered a job you will need to provide suitable Photo ID (drivers licence, passport etc) when you sign on at our office. You will also need to provide your Tax File Number and the details of your Australian bank account for payment of your wages.

As part of our health and safety and food safety policies employees cannot bring dogs onto the orchard property.

The R J Cornish & Co orchard is located near Cobram township on the Murray River in northern Victoria. It has good facilities which makes it a great place for fruit pickers. The fruit picking season (mid January to early April) in this part of Australia is usually fairly warm to hot. You could reasonably expect some work days to reach 40° celsius.
